The COST OF DOING BUSINESS is Iloilo Provincial Government’s initiative that provides pertinent information to investors, researchers, and development planners on business opportunities and investment requirements of different trade and business sectors in the Province
This material features rates of utilities, such as water, power and communication rates, minimum wage rates, government regulations and licenses, taxes on businesses, transportation and freight rates, directories of hotels or pension houses, and financial institutions.
With this publication, we hope that investors and development planners as well as other interested individuals and groups will be able to come up with appropriate investment approaches and development strategies for their respective undertakings and as a whole for a sustainable economic growth of the Province of Iloilo.
This Citizen’s Charter embodies the functions and services of every department and offices in the Iloilo provincial government. This shall serve as our guide in making sure that we act fast and respond right to all business and non-business transactions in our offices including our provincial hospital and district hospitals.
Let this document also serve as guide for our constituents when they transact or avail of the services of the provincial government. We trust that this Citizen’s Charter could empower our people as it can enhance not only transparency and accountability in government services but also foster good relations between our citizen and the provincial government employees as they cooperate in the facilitation of needed documents or services.

This handbook also serves as a baseline information against which future generations may utilize to evaluate the impact of the plans, programs, and services this generation has laid down based on its vision of the future."

ILOILO is a diverse province steeped in history. Its past has seen a melting pot of different cultures which have left their mark in some towns. The best thing about traveling to Iloilo is exploring the history of its many towns. By doing so, it can help us understand how it became what it is today.
Southern Iloilo is also positioned as the heritage destination of the province and many people visit the area every year to see its historic attractions. Belonging to the First Congressional District comprising the towns of Oton, Tigbauan, Guimbal, Tubungan, Igbaras, Miagao and San Joaquin, it is the fourth largest in terms of land area and population in the province.
Iloilo has some of the most intriguing ecotourism sites in the region. Many coastal and mainland attractions in the province have the potential to provide crucial ecotourism positioning for Western Visayas. Controlled outdoor recreational programs in these sites have gained wide popularity among domestic travelers, especially students and young professionals.
Rural Farms in Iloilo are becoming attractive tourist destinations because more visitors want an escape from the stress of early mornings and late afternoon traffic jams and tiring daily routine workload. Many enjoy a drive to rural Iloilo and spend the day or to stay overnight to connect with natural and cultural heritage. Enjoy a richer and authentic leisure experience such as picking your own vegetables or fruits in season in a beautiful field, harvesting eggs, a carabao-driven cart ride probably or feeding the goats and doves are just a few of the fun and fabulous activities waiting for you. Farms offer these wonderful unique experiences.
