    The Basic Population Profile is an annual publication of the Provincial Population Office containing the basic population and demographic information of the Province of Iloilo, covering its 42 municipalities and one (1) component city. This publication is widely distributed to local government units, partner agencies, academes, researchers, stakeholders and to other data users.

    The information contained in this population profile were consolidated and processed from the population database maintained by the Population Office personnel and the Barangay Service Point Officers from the barangay to the municipal up to the provincial level. Other data sources include the Provincial and Municipal/City Planning and Development Offices.

    This population profile containing the data and information presented through tabular and graphical forms can be utilized as reference in development planning and policy formulation that aim to address the identified gaps in the communities, in terms of population and development. It can also be used as basis in planning programs, projects, and activities that contribute to the betterment of the quality of life of the Ilonggo populace.

  • Iloilo mulls energy-saving measures as Middle East conflict raises power concerns

    ILOILO – Alarmed by the potential ripple effects of the escalating conflict in the Middle East on global energy supplies and electricity costs, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. is convening the province’s Community Defense Cluster this Friday, March 6, to prepare contingency measures that include possible energy-saving policies and adjustments in government work arrangements.
