THERESA LADIAO ILOILO City – In a dazzling showcase of beauty, talent and advocacy, Karen Nicole Piccio of Maasin, Iloilo was crowned Miss Iloilo 2025 on January 11, 2025 at West Visayas State University Cultural Center in La Paz district. Miss Iloilo 2024 Alexie Mae Brooks, the reigning Miss Philippines-Eco International, crowned her successor. Piccio captured the hearts of the judges and audiences alike, demonstrating grace and purpose throughout the competition. The national pageant veteran also bagged several special awards, including Miss SM City Iloilo, Best in Introduction Video, Best in Advocacy and Tourism Video, Best Runway Model, Best in Closed-Door Interview, and Best in Gastronomy Costume (tied with Elaine Segura of Guimbal and Teshia Kaye Palomo). Joining Piccio were Miss Iloilo 2025 Heartfelt Queens Segura and Marissa Puyong of Passi City. Segura won the Best in Evening Gown while Puyong took home the Best in Swimsuit award, showcasing their elegance and poise in these key categories. Piccio, a seasoned candidate, had joined the 2019 Miss Philippines-Earth. She received the Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism title in the national pageant. She later joined the revived Miss Manila: Woman of Wonder contest in 2023, finishing as first runner-up. The Miss Iloilo pageant, mounted by Beverly Rosales and Sarah Peña of the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI), not only showcased the beauty and talent of Ilongga women but also highlighted their commitment to community advocacy and cultural promotion.
