According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), AJ March Ryanne B. Felongco, a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries cum laude graduate, topped the board exam with a 91.75% rating. In addition to Felongco, eight other graduates from Iloilo also made it to the Top 10, with seven hailing from UPV here and one from Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) – Main Campus. They were the following: * Top 4 – Julie Ann Claire Nedula Nique of UPV (90.75%) * Top 6 – Thea Irish Barcellano Pentason of UPV (90.25%) * Top 7 – Bea Isobelle Abkilan Villaluz of UPV (89.75%) * Top 10 – Cryssele Anne Sepe Barniso of UPV (89%); Vyenge Erre De la Cruz Gayosa of UPV (89%); Aivie Seterra Padohinog of Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology – Main Campus (89%); Ma. Sandrie Dejardos Sarmiento of UPV (89%); and Shylamar Sefil Sañor of UPV (89%). UPV not only dominated the Top 10 but also emerged as the top-performing school in the October 2024 FTLE. Out of 43 examinees from UPV, 42 passed, resulting in a 97.67% passing rate. Other top-performing schools included Central Luzon State University, which had 83 examinees with 74 passing (89.16%), and Mindanao State University – General Santos City, with 50 examinees and 42 passing (84%). The PRC reported that 1,005 out of 1,509 examinees passed the October 2024 Fisheries Technologist Licensure Exam. The exams were conducted on October 10-11, 2024, in various testing centers nationwide, including in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and other locations.
