PCO Photo ILOILO – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is visiting Passi City today to lead two events aimed at supporting local communities and agrarian reform beneficiaries. The President will turn over 52 patient transport vehicles (PTVs) to various local government units (LGUs). Facilitated by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), the turnover will take place at Plaza Paloma. Joining President Marcos for this event will be PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) secretary Cesar Chavez, and other governmental dignitaries from Panay Island. Following the vehicle distribution, President Marcos will proceed to the City of Passi Arena for the much-anticipated distribution of electronic land titles (e-titles) to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) across Panay Island. This event will see the participation of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) secretary Conrado Estrella III, PCO secretary Chavez, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., and other officials from the local government of Passi City and surrounding LGUs. DAR undersecretary Jesry Palmares said President Marcos will be handing over long-awaited land titles, some delayed for up to 30 years, to ARBs particularly from the province of Iloilo. “These long-awaited titles, which have been pending for decades, will now be awarded to farmers, ensuring they finally own the lands they have cultivated,” Palmares explained. A total of 2,588 e-titles will be distributed, covering a land area of 2,643 hectares across the island.
