The project has an allocated budget of P16.7 million, funded by the Iloilo provincial government. Spearheaded by Fourth District Board Member Rolando Distura, representing Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr., the inauguration of the project took place on July 5. Also present were Mayor Rosario Mediatrix “Trixie” Fernandez, Provincial Engineer Romeo Andig, Uswag Partylist Congressman Jojo Ang, Iloilo Police Provincial Office Director Bayani Razalan, and Mayor Luigi Gorriceta of Pavia. The new road network links the municipality of San Enrique to Passi City, promising enhanced and safer travel for residents. Mayor Fernandez expressed her gratitude to Gov. Defensor for the project, highlighting its significance for San Enrique. “This is one of the biggest projects received by San Enrique from the provincial government,” Fernandez said. The project not only improves local transportation but also opens up opportunities for enhanced trade and easier transport of agricultural produce to the market. “This is a big milestone and support of the provincial government to the municipality,” Fernandez added. A budget of P38 million has been allotted for the second phase of the project, which includes the concreting of an additional 900-meter road connecting Iprog to the national highway.
