            <text>The Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) Balik Scientist Program, hosted by West Visayas State University (WVSU), concluded with an Exit Report Presentation on Tuesday, August 13, at Diversion 21 Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.&#13;

Dr. Souvenir D. Tachado, who served from January 15 to July 12, 2024, highlighted significant contributions and achievements during his engagement with WVSU.&#13;
&#13;
Dr. Tachado provided a summary of his three-part presentation, noting his activities, including mentoring young researchers, conducting seminars on biotechnology, nanotechnology, and adverse drug reactions, and leading writeshops to turn terminal reports into publishable articles.&#13;
&#13;
He also oversaw consultations and monitoring of faculty researchers.&#13;
&#13;
He shared details about various partnerships and developments he oversaw at the institution.&#13;
&#13;
Dr. Tachado concluded his presentation by emphasizing the potential of the research and innovation ecosystem in the Philippines, noting the need for continuous support.&#13;
&#13;
“By enhancing funding, fostering collaborations, supporting talent development, promoting innovation, and improving research administration, we can unlock the full potential of our scientific community,” Dr. Tachado said.&#13;
&#13;
“I am grateful to DOST for their dedication to advancing science and technology. Together, we can build a competent and innovative Philippines,” he added.&#13;
&#13;
Dr. Souvenir D. Tachado is the president and CEO of Souvie Biodelivery LLC, a drug delivery development company based in Tucson, Arizona, focused on developing engineered exosomes for tissue- and site-specific active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) delivery.</text>
