<text>Iloilo’s most wanted man captured in Janiuay

By Ruby P. Silubrico -Thursday, June 27, 2024

ILOILO – Authorities captured the most wanted fugitive in Iloilo province on Tuesday, ending a year-long manhunt.

The 28-year-old, known by the alias “Boy-Boy”, was arrested at 11:19 a.m. in Barangay San Julian, Janiuay, where he had been hiding.

Police identified the suspect as a resident of Barangay Yabon, Janiuay, and conducted the operation with a team comprising members from the Janiuay Police Station, the 603rd Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), under an arrest warrant for murder.

Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, officer-in-charge director of the IPPO, said the suspect was wanted for the murder of Loreto Ardiente, who was fatally stabbed on May 24, 2023, in Barangay Golgota, Janiuay. Following the incident, the suspect fled the area but recently returned, leading to his capture.

Razalan praised the collaborative effort that led to the arrest, emphasizing the persistent efforts of the Iloilo police in tracking down fugitives.

“This arrest marks a significant achievement in our commitment to justice and community safety. We will continue our relentless pursuit of fugitives to maintain peace and order,” said Razalan./PN</text>
