PPO chief Atty. Ruel Von Superio acknowledged the role played by the peer helpers, noting their assistance in the operations of school-based multi-purpose teen centers, particularly in peer helping and advocacy activities within their schools. Hyke Maybay, a peer helper from Tigbauan who graduated Summa Cum Laude (Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics) from the University of the Philippines Visayas, expressed his gratitude for the recognition from the provincial government. “To the Iloilo Provincial Population Office and the Iloilo Provincial Government , thank you for giving me and my fellow peer helpers this opportunity to be part of our province’s Adolescent Health and Youth Development Program,” said Maybay.
