From January to June, different police units confiscated 34,297 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P233 million and 20,200 grams of marijuana valued at P2.4 million. PRO-6 data also showed that 1,600 drug suspects were arrested. Here is the breakdown of the number of arrests per police unit: * Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (PPO) – 593 * Iloilo City Police Office (CPO) – 300 * Iloilo PPO – 270 * Bacolod CPO – 205 * Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 – 72 * Capiz PPO – 67 * Aklan PPO – 39 * Antique PPO and Guimaras PPO – 27 each Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, commended the police units and likewise emphasized the crucial role played by local government units, communities, and other stakeholders in providing vital information for the success of the campaign against illegal drugs. “May the number of arrests serve as a stern warning to those who still engage in the illegal drugs trade to stop and surrender to authorities.
