            <text>Timoteo Consing was a notable Filipino physician and politician, born on February 22, 1893, in Molo, Iloilo City to Luis Consing and Susana Yusay. He married Rosario Yusay and they had seven children: Timoteo Jr., Anita, Arturo, Horacio, Luis, and Rosa. Consing received his education at Instituto de Molo, Ateneo de Manila, and the University of Santo Tomas, where he earned his medical degree.&#13;

In his political career, Consing served as a councilor in Iloilo,  from 1922 to 1928. During his tenure, he initiated free medical clinics for the underprivileged. He also held prominent positions such as president of the Iloilo Medical Society, the Pilar Sugar Planters Association, and the Reserve Officers Legion of the Philippines. He was recognized for his service to the church and received papal honors. Moreover, Consing was elected governor of Iloilo from 1934 to 1937. His administration was marked by significant infrastructure development including roads, bridges, schools, wharves, water systems, and the city hall of Iloilo, now known as the University of the Philippines Visayas administration building. He was known for his scientific thoroughness, passionate commitment, uncompromising integrity, and efforts to eliminate vices like gambling from Iloilo.&#13;

Unfortunately, Governor Timoteo Consing passed away on October 27, 1966. His legacy as a dedicated public servant and advocate for community welfare continues to be remembered in Iloilo and beyond.&#13;
