He had two children, Consuelo Lopez Vito and Jose Lopez Vito Jr. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Colegio de San Juan de Letran and was admitted to the bar in 1907. He served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines under the Japanese Imperial Command. Beyond his judicial role, Jose Vito also made significant contributions as the editor of La Libertad in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, and later at El Tiempo in Iloilo from 1903 to 1907. From 1907 to 1910, he served as the third member of the Provincial Board of Iloilo, and his leadership continued as Governor of Iloilo from 1927 to 1928. On February 14, 1929, he embarked on his judicial career as a Judge of the Court of First Instance (CFI), progressing to the role of associate justice of the Court of Appeals, and subsequently, from 1942 to 1944, he served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court. Tragically, he passed away on May 7, 1947, at the age of 74, and was laid to rest in Caloocan, Metro Manila, marking the end of a distinguished career in Philippine law and governance.
