It contains updated data and information gathered from various sources including different line agencies and private organizations. The information offers policy-makers, researchers, students, entrepreneurs, and potential investors a “first hand” look at what the province can offer and a ready reference on the current socio-economic situation and investment opportunities in the province of Iloilo.
This publication also includes tables, maps, and charts of basic socio- economic indicators that are based on the latest available records as reported by concerned agencies. It also includes data taken from different official publications and reference materials of DTI, DOT, NSCB, NSO, Iloilo Provincial Offices and other Regional Offices of the National Government Agencies and as well as those coming from the private sectors. -

Iloilo Provincial Profile 2012
The Annual Iloilo Provincial Profile is one of the endeavors of the Provincial Planning and Development Office. This publication provides a description of the geography, the population, and economy of the province and is designed to principally provide basic reference material as a backdrop for assessing future developments and is specifically intended to guide and provide data/information to development planners, policy makers, researchers, private individuals as well as potential investors.
This publication is a compendium of secondary socio-economic indicators yearly collected and gathered from various National Government Agencies, Iloilo Provincial Government Offices and other private institutions. Emphasis is also given on providing data from a standard set of indicators which has been publish on past profiles. This is to ensure compatibility in the comparison and analysis of information found therewith.
The data references contained herewith are in the form of tables, charts, graphs and maps based on the latest data gathered from different agencies. Kinaadman: Best practices in local governance Province of Iloilo
The search for effective local governance models in the province of Iloilo resulted in the increase of people participation and enhanced the government’s responsiveness in transforming its local government unit as active partners in achieving its development goals through a more responsive and resourceful local government structure.
The Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) were therefore honored when it was tasked by the Governor of the Province of Iloilo to spearhead in the preparation of a compilation on Best Practices in Local Governance. It was agreed that the focus, as patterned to the Kaban Galing 2001 edition, would be on innovation and exemplary local government practices in Iloilo Province.
A participatory approach involving consultations at the provincial level was put in place. This became the foundation for the selection of reform oriented programs and projects that showcased exemplary practices in local governance.
A team of experts assisted in the design and validation of the projects where in a standardized format was agreed upon for compiling the necessary information. The result is this manual: a compilation of programs managed by new breed of reform-minded leaders that shares the vision of excellence in local governance. The programs and projects have been tested and adopted by the provincial government of Iloilo.
Nine programs and projects are included in the manual.
Some elements of the presented programs and projects in this manual are in fact customary practices that highlighted the value of a resource to people’s livelihoods or local communities. Many of the innovations added significance to the programs and projects where in the readers can adapt, share and promote these exemplary practices in local governance. -

Iloilo prov’l gov’t employees to receive CNA incentive in December
ILOILO City – The provincial government has confirmed that its employees will receive their Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) incentive by December 2024. Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., alongside Ma. Airis Penetrante, president of the Association of Iloilo Provincial Government Employees (AIPGE), and Atty. Renee Valencia, head of the Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office, officially signed the agreement on October 4. -

ILOILO – This province has been selected as one of the top five finalists for the 2024 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (LGU) Award, an honor bestowed by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).
